Available Scholarships

The Metroplex Black Nurses Association–Dallas (MBNA) is committed to strengthening the future of healthcare by investing in the next generation of nurses. Through our scholarship program, MBNA provides financial support to aspiring nursing students who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and a commitment to serving their communities.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

1. Enrollment in a Nursing Program

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (LVN, ADN, BSN, or graduate-level nursing program, not pre-requisites or pre-nursing).

2. Academic Standing

Applicants must maintain good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

3. Commitment to Community Service

Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to community service, health equity, and improving the health of underserved populations.

4. Residency

Applicants must reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex or surrounding North Texas region.

5. Membership or Engagement with MBNA (Preferred)

Preference may be given to applicants who are active members of MBNA, NBNA, or who have participated in MBNA community service initiatives or events.

6. Application Materials

Applicants must submit the following materials by the scholarship deadline:

  • Completed scholarship application form
  • Current academic transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Personal statement describing career goals, commitment to nursing, and how this scholarship will be of benefit
  • One to two letters of recommendation (academic & professional)
  • Resume or curriculum vitae

Apply for a MBNA Scholarship

The scholarship application will open Monday, August 31st, 2026, and close Monday, November 2nd, 2026. Winners will be notified before the Scholarship & Awards Celebration in December 2026.
